1. THE WITHDRAWAL AGREEMENT FOR BRITISH POSTED WORKERS IN FRANCE PRIOR TO 01.01.2021
British nationals and third-country nationals posted in France under a British work contract prior to 01.01.2021 are not covered by the Withdrawal Agreement.
They are therefore not concerned by the online residence permit application platform and are required to apply directly with the Prefecture of their place of residence.
2. BRITISH POSTED WORKERS WHOSE ASSIGNMENT, IN FRANCE, STARTED PRIOR TO 01.01.2021
British nationals and third-country nationals posted in France under a British work contract and whose assignment started prior to 01.01.2021 will be able to pursue their assignment until the original end date.
French authorities have yet to specify the conditions under which the assignment may be pursued.
3. EXTENSION OF THE SECONDMENT ASSIGNMENT BEYOND THE INITIAL TERM
If the assignment which started prior to 01.01.2021 must be extended beyond the initial term, a residence permit application with the Prefecture shall be required as per common law rules (potential work authorisation required by the DIRECCTE depending on the immigration status).
