The visa remains free for children under 6 years of age.
LABOUR INSPECTORATE CAMPAIGN LAUNCH FOR THE OLYMPIC AND PARALYMPIC GAMES
Over the last few weeks, Labour Inspectorates from several departments have carried out numerous checks at the venues of the upcoming Olympic and Paralympic Games.
These inspections have mainly focused on posted workers.
During a check, the Inspector addresses the representative in France designated in the posting declaration (SIPSI), to obtain further documents and information from the relevant companies (the foreign employer of the posted worker and the client company in France).
Given that this is a service that we offer, our France Détachement team can be designated as a representative in France, and we’re currently at the heart of these inspections with our clients. Using our expertise and experience, we’ll make sure that everything goes ahead in a coordinated and safe manner.
We’re here for you, even beyond the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to discuss your posting needs and accompany you in all the necessary formalities for welcoming posted workers in perfect compliance.
UKRAINIANS IN FRANCE: EXTENSION OF TEMPORARY PROTECTION UNTIL THE 4TH OF MARCH 2026
The European Union has decided to extend for a further year, the temporary protection granted to Ukrainians fleeing the war of aggression led by Russia.
This measure, in place since the 4th of March 2022, was intended to last until the 4th of March 2025.
To date, over 4 million Ukrainians have been able to use this mechanism.
You can take a look at the press release from the Council of the European Union here
However, we’d like to draw your attention to the fact that it’s now possible to request a change of status to a worker status (“employee” or “Talent”), if a Ukrainian collaborator with a temporary residence permit is eligible for this. This will allow them to benefit from a more stable situation in France.
FOREIGN SERVICES REFORM: AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION OF RESIDENCE PERMIT EXPIRATION
As part of the experimental foreign service reform programme (in French, “programme expérimental de réforme des services étrangers”, or “PERSée”), the authorities have developed a new digital tool, aimed at preventing situations of loss of rights.
Foreign users with a residence permit issued using the procedure via ANEF (“Administration numérique pour les étrangers en France”; “Digital administration for foreigners in France” in English), will receive an alert by email and by SMS of the next expiration date of their permit, as well as the timescale in which their renewal application will need to be completed.
Just to remind you, residence permit renewal applications must be submitted:
• Between the 4th and the 2nd month preceding the residence permit expiration, if submitting electronically (e.g. for the “Talent” status using ANEF).
• In the 2 months preceding the residence permit expiration, if submission is only possible using another method (e.g. by appointment, by post)
If a submission is made outside of the deadline, a penalty fee of 180 euros may be applied and would need to be paid on collection of the renewed residence permit.
Keeping up with the deadlines for your collaborators’ residence permits is also a part of the assistance offered by our experts, and they’ll take care of alerting you in advance.
